I work at the pencil factory on the fourth floor. I have known Mr.

Frank for two years. His general character is good. I have known Conley

for two years. His general character for truth and veracity is bad.

I would not believe him on oath.

CROSS EXAMINATION.

Conley borrowed money and promised to pay it back, but he didn't

do it. We would get it after awhile. He tried to borrow money from me,

but I refused to let him have it.
